Straight Talk For Families
Straight Talk, a locally developed, nationally recognized program, is based on the belied that parents can and should be the primary sexuality educators of their children. With the assistance of a trained facilitator, it provides a non-threatening opportunity for parents and their children to come together to share concerns, talk about values and beliefs, and , in general, practice communicating about sexuality. Hundreds of families have participated in the program, which is designed to improve family communication about sexuality and other sensitive issues and to provide education and information on the topics of puberty and sexuality. The activities and content used for each program vary, depending on the age of the youth involved, the program's length (usually 3 to 9 hours), and the participants' background and needs. Straight Talk is an excellent program for religious groups, support groups, neighborhoods, PTA/PTO's, sports teams, etc. |
