Medical Services to Minors
Planned Parenthood believes that all people should have access to reproductive health care and education. Therefore, minors (under the age of 18) who request medical services at PPCO are not required to have parental consent. As a part of our commitment to confidentiality, PPCO does not notify parents when a minor (under the age of 18) requests our medical services. Minors who come to PPCO are always encouraged to involve their parents in health care and health care decisions. Many of our young clients do choose to involve their parents. However, PPCO policy states that "...no one shall be coerced into involving another individual in making a private reproductive health care decision." |
